Isaiah 49:23 – And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

Here’s me in a nutshell - a return missionary, a newlywed, currently attending BYU trying to get into the Accounting program, all of that while trying to understand Isaiah in the little time available. Isaiah to me is an untouched treasure chest… there’s so much in there, I just have no treasure map to get there. Hopefully we’ll find the map, learn to read it, and open that chest together.

  1. I have always loved how Isaiah evokes motherhood to help us understand God’s committed love to us as sinners, which begins in Isaiah 49:15 and is finished in Isaiah 49:16

    15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
    and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
    Though she may forget,
    I will not forget you!
    16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
    your walls are ever before me. (New International Version)
